I know it's not binos, because I've had to do without them when I ran off and left them at camp one year opening morning .

Never really thought about it but I think I have some sort of light beanie in every pack I own and in the console of my truck.
Cool mornings on my bald head gives me headaches.

I’ll second the beanie. I even sleep with one on while in a tent.

Other than the obvious (hunting and camping gear), chapstick is high on the list.

I also always bring superglue. Great for sealing deep cuts, as well as those annoying cold/dry weather cracks I get in my fingertips now that I am old.

Nothing shuts a guy down faster than crotch rot from sweating.

That's one reason I wear merino boxer briefs and bottoms......never a problem.

Outside of all my camping gear and pack etc, I've got to have my bugle tube and mouth reeds. Without those, I'm just wasting my time out there.

Out of 35 replies only one water related item. Maybe it's where I hunt now. But I'm back for days at a time. Without water I die.
Fuel would be a tie for me. As I could then extract myself from whatever nonsense I got into.
