Do they make anything that is actually good and reliable and can compete with the Alpha companies?

Compete with Alpha companies? Not even remotely close.

BUT, their UHD binos are fairly decent if you can get them for a good price. I don't think any of their stuff is worth full retail. But picked up for a good discount on the used market, they are decent.

Customer service is unmatched. As far as glass goes and I’ve owned quite a few of theirs and others. They are kind of middle of the road. If you buy used, they punch above their price but full price I’d say there are better options out there. I am currently using the gigantic 10x50 UHDs lol they are solid, I will see how they hold up next to my buddies ELs

I'm not sure what the best of Vortex is but I will say that their Viper HD 10x42's that I bought as new in-box for $300 are truly remarkable.

I own or have owned EL's, Duovid HD+'s, Zeiss SFL's, Maven B1.2's, Kowa Genesis, Tract Torics's and several others and I AM NOT saying the Vipers are better or even as good as the mentioned but the $300 vs $2500 difference is very hard to swallow when you look thru the Vipers.

Once again, I'm not a Vortex fan but just simply stating what I have actually seen with my own eyes!

Take care and hope this helps.

I'm a fan of their Radian tripod and head. You can get it new for $600. There are others that are pretty much the same for the price. But if I leave it against the tire one night after my 13th stand and run it over, I get a new one.

Cheap red dots for fun guns. I'm fine throwing an inexpensive red dot on the kids .22's and other fun guns. If it loses zero or craps the bed like electronics do oh well. They will replace it.

The Razor 1-6x is probably their best product with regard to reliability and being competitive in the market.

Binoculars, scope and spotter. Spotter is a Viper HD, binos were diamondbacks, don't recall what the scope was. All needed warranty work at least once.

Their customer service was great though.

I’ve had a couple scopes, a viper and now a razor. Scopes seem ok for the price I paid for them. Had Diamondback binos, warrantied them out, sold them for like $60 after they replaced them with a new pair. Had the 50mm razor spotter, sold that and got the old 65mm razor. It works alright but am looking to upgrade it. I would not pay full price or remotely near full price for most. Their prostaff or employee program pricing is near 50% discount.

I have viper HD binos that have been pretty good for the past 7 years. Never had an issue with them. They definetly aren’t the best out there but they are actually ok.

The LHT scopes seem pretty decent too.
