Whats on your Christmas list?

It doesn’t hurt anything but your skipping a holiday. Christmas time is special because it comes once a year, make it six months a year and it’s no longer special. That’s my rant.

I try to explain this to my wife. Respect the sanctity of each holiday! It's no longer special if it's "celebrated" almost year round.

It's the same with SoCal weather. If every day is the same sunny and 75, you take it for granted.

That said, I have a small/cheap list this year.

Couple of small tools and a pair of shoes. Two or three small hunting items. Receiving gifts is becoming less of a priority for myself every year. The overzealous gift giving wears me down anymore. One side of my family plays dirty santa every year now (approximately $25 gift value is the budget for everyone) and that's more fun than receiving a high dollar hunting gift for myself.

I just wrote a list today because my mom asked me to. A few tools - a bandfile, a sander, and a brad nailer. Also a pair of pants. Never used a bandfile before, I hope I get one. It's the first time I have asked for anything specific in a long time. I've been donating a ton of my time to helping out my mom lately, so I think she really wants to do something nice for me. She's sweet that way.
Also, Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to everyone.

I wind up buying my own Christmas gifts. This year it’s some lingerie for the wife and a suppressor.

I have a running list of gear I would like and end up buying myself over time. But if the fat man’s listening I could use some swaro NL pures in 10x42 in orange.

For the last 12 months I’ve been doing a good job of selling, donating or throwing away stuff I no longer use or need. There isn’t a whole lot I want and even less that I actually need. However, I know that if I don’t tell my family something specific I’ll end up with more stuff I don’t want.

If I had to pick one thing, it would probably be a pair of warm, but lightweight glassing mitts.

Once you get to be a certified old guy you don't want anything. If I find something I like I just go buy it. Xmas is for kids.
This here, I'm 55 and buy what I want. Parents and I just have dinner for the holidays. GF is always buying me shit I don't want or will never use. She bought me a massage package last year. I'm like WTF am I going to do with this? There is no woman I want to subject to rubbing my hairy back while making forced small talk :ROFLMAO:

One I never understood was guys that work and have stay at home wives talking about all the stuff they got for Christmas.. Ugh dude, you literally bought yourself all that stuff.

Bought a little Savage Rascal, rail, and red dot for my son among other things. I'm excited to give that to him.

On my list.... I'd like a new smoker but I'd settle for a Garmin chrono.

A tank of gas and hot cup of tea and my shotgun to go bird hunt if I don’t have to work. Not married anymore and no family out west so I just hunt or backpack on Christmas. I give thanks and then get outside!!!!!!
