What’s on the Tikka trigger tension screw?

Didn’t want to muddy up the thread about the trigger attachment screw.

My Tikka has something blue on the threads but I don’t think it’s regular blue locktite. Appears to be some kind of reusable compound. I thought maybe vibratite but only see that in purple.

I’ve had my screw out a few times. Replaced the trigger spring but went back to the original after finding the lighter spring unreliable. I’d like to make sure the screw will stay in the current position.

Thanks.

Degrease fully with brake cleaner. Apply standard nail polish. Torque that screw down as tight as you physically can until right before you think the screw will brake.

I think he’s talking about the trigger pull adjustment screw.

I just clean whatever it is off and replace with nail polish. Use the factory trigger spring. Back the adjustment screw off until it hits the bolt holding the trigger assembly in place (the lightest setting), then paint with a little more nail polish for good measure.

One thing to note, if you’ve removed the mag tension springs (e.g., your using a chassis with AICS mags), be careful backing out the trigger adjustment screw. If you’re not careful, it can ride up on top of the trigger assembly bolt and make the trigger too light.

Ahhh. Good catch. Thank you.

@TNBuck2

The blue stuff on the trigger pull weight adjustment screw is something like vibratite. You don’t have to take it off. Set the weight where you want, then put a drop of nail polish on the screw where it meets she trigger body to create a seal line.
