I ran the nomad 2 exactly the same as this straight jacket with a cargo net & pockets zipped on...

It wasn't bad but I didn't like how wide I got...feel like ninja turtle walking around the woods when those wing pockets get on the side

I like the looks, but wish it had a zipper access into the main bag. Top access only is kind of a bummer.
lol...they have a million packs with zippers. This bag is specifically for people who want a light weight, simple, top load bag. I have been waiting a couple years for this bad boy and will be buying it on opening day.

That bag could make me order a new bag. I also don’t like the overly complicated designs. Looking forward to seeing the dall pack.

lol...a side zipper may add 1.5oz. Regardless, its a sweet pack. Besides the Hoodlum its the only pack that really has me excited.

Yeah, and they already have a bag that is almost exactly what you are describing...the Muskeg. It has your zipper and weighs just a few ounces more than this pack will.

Putting a zipper on this bag defeats the entire purpose of what they are trying to do. They currently have no top-load packs in their lineup, this fills that niche for guys that are looking for it. If you don't want a top-load just buy a Muskeg.

Not really. the large side pockets are key feature on the new bag. Its the real reason that kept me from pulling trigger on a Muskeg. They could drop a couple oz if the muskeg lost the Cardura back pocket.

Got the Straightjacket a few days ago. I made a bag that clips in behind the panel between the wings. Easily removable. Kind of a slightly smaller Fulcrum if you want that option and if not 10 seconds it's off. The Sherman clone in multicam is next on the sewing machine. I made one in Realtree for another pack I made.

I love looking at all of their new gear but I only get to hunt out west for 10-14 days a year. I bought a used Mtn Warrior a few years ago and then sold the bag and bought the Nomad II. For my elk hunting it is perfect. With the grab it 2 it is a great meat hauler and I add an eberlestock zip up bag for a camp bag. Works great. I really love the flexibility of the Nomad II. It works well with my climber strapped to it if I'm setting water or hunting them like whitetails.

I bought a Dall to upgrade from my Woodsman. I too had been waiting for a super simple/lightweight option for a multi-day bag. I have it loaded up with 90% of my gear for a 5 day hunt right now and still have plenty of room for as much boned out meat as I could handle in the bag. I am glad I held off buying one of the other high capacity bags before this one came out.

Thats definitely interesting. Shapetero maybe. Antero sides, shape charge front/access with a built in shape charge pocket. People have been asking for a smaller shape charge, this looks to nail it.
