What's going on with Nikon?

I know they pulled out of SHOT SHOW this year and I see a bunch of scopes as closeouts from Europtics. Is another company afraid of the antigun market?

Companies make business decisions all the time. It doesn't mean they are having some kind of collective emotional crisis. Considering all their product lines, I would imagine rifle scopes could very well be their smallest line, and least profitable as well. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they get out of binoculars too. There is so much competition out there now I don't know how any of them stay in business.

Nikon has always offered a good product at a fair price. I always thought their Buckmasters line was excellent quality for the money. I'd hate to see them go but they got a bottom line just like the rest of us do.

Their attempts at the tactical market seem like a total failure. Better off sticking to the sub 400$ hunting scope market if they even do that.

I think for the money, Bushnell has edged them out of it being a lucrative market for them.

For the longest time they tried to hide the fact from their birders they were in the hunting optic business. I hope they fail.
