Most important is your sit-spot and your FOV at that sit spot when you do a Coyote set.
Cause sometimes, like if you're in a widened-out opening within the middle of a Juniper "Orchard".... when you're calling them in to a particular Juniper where you've stuffed your eCaller into it at about chest height, so the coyote comes up to the tree, then has to stop and pause before he then attempts to raise-up on his hind legs to per chance investigate up into the tree there.
Some times they can be leary about crossing an open space like what I've engineered by shoving the eCaller into that particular Juniper... found within this widened-out, opened-up area nestled within this "Orchard" of Junipers.
So... I say the FOV is very important because what you also sometimes get.. is that you HAVE called one in!... but... he's being cautious and leary about the final approach.. so you'll likely see him at the base of some Juniper around the edge of your FOV, looking in the direction of your eCaller.
And when it comes to sounds to try when typical stuff doesn't seem to be working, another thing I like to do is pay attention to what kinds of birds are farting around in the area. Like if there's Scrub Jays... maybe try playing distress of one of them, AFTER... you've tried your other things like prey distress, pup distress, yada yada
