My go-to spot this year is shut down due to a fire. I hunted it the first 2 days of season before a hunting camp 1/2 mile away decided to have a campfire during a fire ban and lit the whole mountain on fire. I sort of had all my eggs in one basket in this unit. Happened to find this spot by luck years ago and it has always been fantastic, so I never really had to hunt other parts of the unit. This is a heavily pressured OTC unit.

I went to a new spot I randomly picked on the map on the other side of the unit this morning and didn’t see a ton of elk sign but did call in one bull. He came in silent and ended up busting me, we saw each other at the same time when he popped out at 40 yards after somehow moving in on me without even cracking a stick. I don’t know if I am better off picking another random spot on the map for tomorrow or going back to this spot? Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated
