What to do with Elk Hide?

Got my first bull's hide tanned. Is draped over the couch now but wife doesn't like it. What are some other ideas? Feel free to share pics

I turned one into a rug on our bedroom floor. It was too big to have on the couch and takes up way to much wall space.

For the record only reason I have it is that I shot the elk and then backed a truck up to it. Otherwise I am not hauling an elk hide out of the middle of nowhere.

I like this. I have my 1st mule deer hair on hide.
It been in a box for 20 years.
Utilizing it in a shed antler display would be great.

Anyone had a hide tanned hair off and had it turn out stiff like for tooling leather?
Had a elk hide done hair off last year and it come out well but it's way too soft and supple for heavier duty things like belts wallets etc.

For the horse people, elk hide chaps are spectacular. Moccasins are great. I've even made shirts and coats.

I brain tanned mine and hung it in the garage. My wife didn't want it in the house either! Not super pretty but I'm sure proud of it. I have a lot of respect for the Indians back in the day working those hides with stone tools or their teeth!
