What thumb release is everyone using for hunting?

For a little over a month now I’ve been shooting the UV Button 2. It has earned its spot as my primary release. I find it to be the most crisp release I’ve used. The UVB2 standard size feels a tad smaller than the previous button, but it’s just right for me. Couldn’t be better actually. The new thumb barrel is a skosh smaller and has a little more bite. The release is quiet too. Just as quiet as the Carter Whisper and Revolution.

Does the jaw on it close with the cocking lever or do you have to manually close the jaw?

It’s not a spring return or close when you cock it, but after you shoot it, it snaps back to the closed position so when you cock it, it’s locked. I’ve probably put 5 or 600 shots on it if I had to guess, and it’s never not been closed when I cock the release.

If I fire the release and keep it open and cock the release, I can still push the hook closed and it’s locked.

If there is one thing that is wonky about the UV Buttons -it’s the direction in which they attach to the string. It takes some getting used to when changing from like the Perfex or the Onnex that connects from the other side with the string keeper.

This is where the hook returns after it’s fired, without a spring, and the release is not cocked.
