I’ll be trading a rifle and hoping to get 14 nl pure or btx…

I have 10x50 el and stx w/115 mm at the moment looking for something in between.

Question is
-would you have 10’s on your chest, 14’s and big spotter in pack??

-Or go with 10’s and btx and stx in the pack?

Can a guy use the 10’s for inside let’s say 800 yards and btx for everything else or is it too much for inside 1200 yards? Or does a guy need the 14’s for that 800-1500 yard glass?

I would take the 10s and BTX, having 15x56 and 10x Swaro binoculars as well as 85mm and 115mm btx/atx with doubler. I use the 15s the most, but the BTX is the last optic I would trade away. I can cover so much ground with it.

Forgot to add mainly going to be a mule deer finder in open South Dakota and Wyoming

inside what distance do you think the Btx is to much for?

For mule deer I'd probably just pack the 14's and spotter. I have NL8's as well so I use them on the front and will be packing the 14's and spotter in my pack most of the time on hunts where I need a spotter. I have an early deer hunt and plan on taking all three. I don't really see me leaving the 14's in the truck for any situation so I may end up with all 3, that's why I bought the 8x32's.

I've packed 15's, 10's and a spotter in the past on multiple hunts and have never regretted taking my big spotter and always regreat it when I leave it behind. Even when I had an ATC I wished I had my big spotter, it's just nice to get a good look or really pick apart an area if you plan on spending most of the day on a vantage. Even for archery elk I like my big spotter and big bino's when packing in, I've left the spotter in camp once were on elk but any time we are headed to a good vantage I want it there.

You can hand hold 14's decently for a quick look at stuff, but if a person is contantly moving and glassing off into little holes smaller binos are the ticket.
