I would steer clear of the waterproof boots entirely. In a good rain it is only a matter of time before they are soaked. And then they taken about 3 days to completely dry out.Looking to switch up the heavier, stiffer boot for archery elk. Looking for recommendations on a tough hiking shoe or a lightweight boot.. Also when going this route are you wanting waterproof or will that not breathe well? Any other considerations?
I have been happily running the Vivobarefoot Tracker Forest Esc for several years now.
After going through lightweight hiking shoes and low-rise boots, I have valued breathability and quick-drying. Waterproof models are something I would personally stay away from with my needs. Adjust your socks accordingly and you should be set for variance in weather.
