What puffy ar you packing?

2011 North Face Thunder…. 800 fill… pertex quantum shell material…. In grey.

I've thought about updating to something more hunting orientated…. but this one works just fine.

I use a 850 down LLBean puffy. Super light and very warm. I don't use a heavy jacket anymore. Just the puffy and a rain jacket.

I'm a jacket whore... I have 9 different puffy jackets, most are down, and then a Patagonia NanoPuff and Micropuff synthetic. I typically reach for my First Ascent Microtherm Down Hoody in Olive Green for it's light weight, and packability. With that said, it's not the warmest jacket I own(OR Transcendent Hoody), but I like the layering capabilities and I don't often hunt in weather below about 30 degrees.
I did however just buy a Arcteryx LEAF Atom LT Hoody in Crocodile/Coyote Brown that I think will be my new go to for this season. It packs nearly as small as most of my down jackets, only a couple ounces heavier, and the synthetic insulation is a little peace of mind for when/if it should get wet.

Arc'teryx nuclei for me, been using it for about a year and really like it. Before that i was using an atom lt but found it a bit on the cold side for a stand alone puffy in the fall.

Marmot Zeus down jacket with a Kryptek Kratos vest just in case. This layered under a KUIU Chugach should be pretty warm.

Let me know how this one treats you over the year. I like the looks of it and will keep it on my radar.

My list looks a little like stds, but my new favorite is the Sitka Kelvin Ultra Lite...30% Poly filled and 70% goose down. Light, packs small and is plenty warm.

I'm a gear hound when it comes to insilating layers. I used the FL puffy last year sheep hunting and worked great. Bought the Kuiu Kenai this year and used it sheep hunting and it worked great as well. Both jackets breath well, dry fast and are relatively packable synthetic layers. The weight isnt bad for either one as far as carry goes. The FL puffy has a better hood far as wind protection goes but the kuiu puffy hood feels better for hunting overall, especially bow shooting due to it having a further back design on the face of the hood.

same here, brother in law took me to the employee store in Portland and I bought one for around $90.

It's already cheap... But that's a for sure a No brainer at that price for dang sure. I don't love the color schemes but can't beat the weight to warmth ratio.
