Tried the Kuiu Superdown, loved packing it but froze wearing it. Went back to the Sitka Kelvins. Almost too warm.

The kifaru lost lake parka will be my go too this fall. I hate being cold and I'll take my Kuiu super down zip t as well and leaving it at the cabin. Wore a spindrift in the past for a synthetic and have a marmot down I've used as well. With the kifaru I doubt I'll take the others anymore.

I generally can layer up and use this

PATAGONIA MEN'S ULTRALIGHT DOWN SHIRT

with a shell over it and stay warm. Also bought the kryptek aquillo but have not used it in the field. Might add the Unc from first lite or the Kifaru lost this fall. Not sure yet.

It must not rain where you are, or you've never been in rain all day with no rain jacket. lol

It doesn't rain much here in Sept (obviously some years are exceptions and it looks like this year may be one of them). Usually you can tell before you head out by looking at the weather forecast, but it only rains all day on me about once every 5 years and even then it's only for one day; so some guys will just stay in camp that day depending on what your hunt looks like. I have contemplated calling a DWR softshell good enough. Some guys bring a UL rain jacket, but no pants. We do get regular rain storms in the afternoon a lot, but they rarely last more than 10-15 minutes.

Eddie Bauer First Ascent Downlight. I picked it up on clearance for less than $100. It is now discontinued, as the current offerings have treated down, and mine does not. 13.3 oz on my scale in size Medium.

Cabela's Passage Primaloft. Windshear, less than $50 on sale. Not the lightest or most compact but fits nicely in the bottom of my pack.

GoLite Bitteroot or First Lite. Used them together a couple of times last year calling coyotes.

I saw this on REI's website today. Kuhl SpyFire. Looks like they have couple of colors that would work for hunting. They advertise it like it can be used as an outer layer in regards to outer material durability. REI dropped the ball as they are missing some specs, including actual fill weight and overall weight though.

I have a kryptek kratos. I've only had a chance to use it once during spring gobbler. It was 38 degrees and rain and I wore it under my soft shell. I didn't get cold so it was good for me.
