What other addiction(s) do you have?

Target archery. I'd get another hobby but I'd just take that one too the extreme too and spend too much money.

Metal fabrication and smoking meats.

First smoker build and placed 3rd in the first ever bbq competition I entered!

Books and food. If my belly isn't growling, my brain usually is instead.

Golf, fly fishing, mountain biking. It's always funny how I can completely shove those things aside for hunting season every year. :D

When I was single I’d say hookers and blow. Now that I’m old and married just say family stuff. The first one sounds cooler.

Clearly we all share something of an obsession with the outdoors and hunting, fishing, camping and gear-whoring. This website has cost me tens of thousands of dollar in new gear. Not complaining, just a fact. But I'm curious...what other addiction(s) do you enjoy when you're not humping through the backcountry? This is mine. Just joined the Patriot Guard Riders, cool people there.View attachment 363943View attachment 363944View attachment 363945View attachment 363946
snowmobiling, dirt bikes

Tools,,,, tools and more tools
Truck pulling parts, I have enough for 3 different cummins engines, one custom cummins based unit, a 426” cubed 12v deckplate I’m trying to sell and a 412” sleeved 4v unit with all one off parts I designed and made or had made for the 2.6sb class….. it’s a sickness.
I have a rare diesel bmw car with half a fortune stuck in it and a single turbo setup, just shoved in the corner collecting dust…. All stupidity.

My dumb ass can’t leave anything alone.
Turbod my damn lawnmower which lead to a lot of other things n went from 19 pto hp to now 42
My f150 had a turbo leaking oil so my dumbass dropped 10g in it and just got off the dyno with a 671rwhp and 704lbft on 87oct. Just stupidity

I have an addiction to nice horses. Since My wife and I can’t afford them. We attempt to make them. It consumes most of our life put aside of hunting season. Luckily I get to combine one passion with another.

You mean you breed cheap ones together to try and create something good?

Fly fishing was definitely my gateway into hunting. It’s the original addiction for me.

Less Lethal Launchers I own a few of them. .68 Caliber 10 gram ammo that shoots at 500 fps. It is so much fun. And a good way to keep yourself out of courts if you ever have to defend yourself family or home.

No. My wife watches different studs and bloodlines then shops around for what is coming up in the barrel horse world. We typically breed to newer studs that aren't as famous or well known in the industry. It's a less out of pocket initially than trying to buy started colts. Plus, we enjoy starting and raising our own.

Another horse person here. I showed competitively as a youth, took a 10 year break from horses, and got back into it a year ago and started showing in the ranch versatility classes and really enjoying it. I sure missed horses a lot especially the training aspect of it.

You can make a small fortune with horses, but you have to start with a large fortune to do it.

Love horses, but unless I win the lottery I doubt I will ever get into them again.

Being in the mountains. Backpacking. Welding.
Archery, but not as much since my shoulder has been giving out again.

Adventures with this one have been becoming a big one.

Bowhunting, bikes and snowboarding have all chewed paycheques, especially when travelling to foreign countries for them.
Snowboarding photos are from 2003, my knees are trashed from crashing bikes and haven’t been able to hit the big stuff like I use to.
I don’t fish much anymore, but am very keen to learn fly fishing when I can put the time into learning.
