Looking to get into the chamber sealer game. Im making 100 lbs of cold smoke cured sausage now. Plus i'd like to take my wild game care to a better level.

Decided on a JVR 100 chamber sealer. But I'm not sure which mil of bags to buy.

Mostly will be wild game. Either ground or some cut up whole muscle. No bones. I'll be sealing soups and stuff from the kitchen also. Just not sure what is my best route to keep these frozen items from being crap by bags breaking etc. Any help is appreciated.

Just spend the $ and get the 5 mil bags. They are 2x as expensive but never leak. We are constantly getting in and out of our chest freezers moving packages around and would occasionally puncture the 3 mil bags and end up with freezer burned items. Not an issue with the 5 mil bags. We'll worth the extra 5-10 cents...

4 mil from vac sealers unlimited are what I use. Generally doing the same things you listed in my vac100.

No issues so far

I use primarily 4 and 5 mil bags for long term freezer storage. Vacuumsealersunlimited is a great site to get them. I usually buy them by the 1000's and look for when they got free shipping on the ones I want.

How do you like the JVR VAC100? I’m doing 1-2 deer/elk a year plus some occasional fish. Largest bags are 4# for future grind. I’m looking to move from my traditional LEM vac sealer to a chamber sealer. The JVR VAC100 looks easier to move and takes less space than other chamber options.
Tired of weak seals if there is any fat or moisture in the area. Also, the vac and seal performance on the LEM both seem to drop during a session when doing more than a few bags, even with gasket maintenance.

Love it. Did 5 Antelope this year with it on top of just basic groceries and such around the house.

We had two guys deboning and separating meat and another guy running the sealer. Everything went quickly and smoothly.

I use 4 mil bags, might bump to 5 mil once I finish this case off. 4 mil is noticeably more durable than 3 mil, but I have had a couple rips over the years. Great choice with the jvr, my vac 110 is a fantastic machine.

What sold me on JVR was the ability to take it apart easily and replace any parts that may break. I called them up. They answered the phone instantly and talked with me on everything. They said 3 mil bags do great, but I always ask several sources. Makes sense to go 4 mil for added security. It is t much more $

The bags they sell tend to be 3 mil. They're the only 11" wide bags I've been able to find, so if I need a really big bag I'm using their 3 mil

You'll be glad you went with the 100 which has a 12.3" sealing bar. I use a lot of 6" wide bags and my 215 has only a 10" bar. If it were 12, I could do 2 at a time. My only remorse.
