Every way I thought to ask that sounded creepy! But seriously, wool, synthetic? Boxers or briefs? Commando😉? Do you wear them at all with a Merino base layer?

Exofficio Boxer Briefs. Ever since they were recommended on here a few years ago, they are all I wear every day. Watch Sierra Trading Post or other places for deals. You can find them for $10-12 a pair. Not the cheapest but worth every penny.

FL Red Desert are awesome. I picked up some Dobson, but I prefer the Red Desert. The Dobson isn't that much lighter and due to aerowool not being as stretchy doesn't snug up enough in the groin and provide enough 'support'. Others had similar comments on a different thread so I'm not the only one. I have heard good things about the Duluth Trading Buck Naked, but haven't tried them for myself yet.

Exofficio boxer briefs during warm weather and Red desert in cooler weather. The sitka merino boxer briefs are nice too. The Exofficio last forever I love them.

The wrong kind... Realized about a month ago somebody been slipping me noassatalls..
Not even fifty yet, never thought it was gonna happen..
The Missus seems to think the fact that I,m a cheap bastid and haven't bought any new ones in a couple years might be the culprit...

I have been using Exofficio for years and they work great. This year I started using the Duluth Trading "Buck Naked" boxers and really like them as well. I've had the Red Desert and they didn't last one trip without wearing through where my legs rubbed. That was $55 down the drain. I have one 4 day trip on a pair of the new Dobson boxer from Firstlite and so far they are ok. I'm taking them with me on my trip to CO and ID and will report how they hold up after this trip.

First Lite wool all the way. What I've learned - I shouldn't wear briefs because when the thighs get sweaty, the inner thighs rub together or rub against the pant fabric and I start to get chauffing. Mostly on longer hikes. Once you're rubbed raw there's no real recovering from it. Can be quite painful. Thus, I wear the form fitting boxers or whatever you call them. They look like cycling shorts, going down the thigh with a tight fit. I never got chauffing again once I switched.

As for fabric, I like synthetics (Exofficio) for day hikes where I shower at the end of the day. They are super durable, last for years and dry out quickly. If doing a multi day backpack trip I go wool. The synthetics start to give me a rash down there after the first day, plus like all synthetics they stink more. After a few days, they stink a lot! Where wool won't stink at all. I've hunted a full week and been amazed by the fact they don't stink at all. Very comfortable. The wool isn't as durable, runs a touch warmer than synthetic and takes a little longer to dry, but those are all marginal differences. The important thing is they don't stink, give me rashes or chauffing.

Fist Lites are nice but a little longer than they need to be. I wouldn't bother with Kuiu synthetics, but would try a wool one if they ever come out with one.

I am using three sets. First lite red desert, Sitka core (the silk weight) and Sitka merino boxer briefs. They all been good. I wear the lighter ones early season and the merino as it gets colder.

For hunting and spending time in the field commando is the answer for me. No chaffing or any other issues. Lots of people are hesitant because it is different but I recommend everyone tries it.

FL merino when it gets colder out. Synthetic boxer briefs when warmer out.

I also have some Buck naked but don't like them for hunting, too loose and they just buck up where I don't want them to...

I like the fit of the first lite red deserts but mine ripped from the crotchal area all the way up the asscrack after a few wearings.

Sitka merino boxers or champion synthetic. There is no anti odor in the champion but they breathe very well and the most comfortable I've worn.

The new First Lite boxers. They are awesome! Been using them in the gym and have a few hunts on them already. The legs don't ride up!! I also have a pair of the seamless Smartwools that are good too. But they are a little thicker. These will be my backup.

Primary will be some icebreaker merino boxer briefs to ideally keep the funk down. Backup pair will be a synthetic pair from cabelas "weatherproof", which I wear normally for running and such with good results (supportive/don't stretch out/no chafing).

Under armor boxer briefs. These are the only ones I have owned and wore, I haven't put a whole lot of thought into underwear, so I don't really know if I missing anything. I can't remember what I paid for these when I bought them, but I do remember thinking, "I can't believe I'm paying this much for underwear".

I wear FL Red Desert. They lasted me all last season. Even in warmer weather they wick just fine and keep me dry, also I have yet to have any fungal problems.

During colder weather when I won't be making any long movements, I use FL Allehegny base layers with nothing underneath.
