What is your new year hunting goal?

Spring will be either black bear or turkey for me. Then early fall, I'd love to get another Bighorn. I'll be doing 14 days for that. Mid-late season I'll do the odd day here and there to put a few deer in the freezer and maybe an elk. I'll probably take a 3 or 4 days trip in November for those deer/elk as well.

You guys in Alberta have it made when it comes to hunting, and the variety of species you can go after.

Chiropractor didn't help me. Had surgery right before Christmas. PT has been a mixed bag. Getting a consult for a spinal cord simulator in a few weeks. Hopefully that will fix things.
Sorry to hear about all them Buddie, hope you feel better soon, We all wish we can keep that youthful body forever,

My goal is to head out west for the first time and chase mule deer or elk around the mountains. got a few units in mind but we have no idea what we are doing.

Work out as much as I can to be in the best shape I can be in and hunt as much as I possibly can, with out pissing the wife off to much

I'm just hoping to be able to hunt again this year. I missed 2018 due to needing surgery to remove a brain tumor. What started out as severe headaches, turned into a huge nightmare for me. I thought I was on the road to recovery, but then found out my tumor was growing back and I needed radiation to hopefully stop the growth. After my second treatment, I had 2 seizures which caused me to lose my drivers license for 6 months. I have since finished my treatments, and am now on medication to control the seizures. If all goes well, I will be able to drive again this fall and hopefully be able to hunt deer again this year in my home state. After I get to that point, I will be planning another elk hunt in one of the western states I have points in.

Same goal for about 6 of the last 10 years, kill an elk with my bow! I've been so dang close so many times but haven't been able to seal the deal. A week committed this year in an area I know relatively well...this is the year!

40th birthday present is an elk hunting trip out west. But I'm not one for going guided so it's an OTC DIY kinda hunt.

Bummer ...sorry you had to deal with this but if it's any comfort, we went thru the same thing with my wife and she came back a 250% stronger after recovery. She went from being your average mom to an unstoppable force who is building an amazing business, traveling and vacationing more, basically living more. The other side of the mountain can be glorious if you lose your corporeal limits and embrace your potential. Nothing in life challenges us harder than our own potential. You made it to the restarting blocks...get ready to run.
God's speed.

I'm hoping to get my first spring turkey on the ground! I have never hunted them. Always wanted to. Finally bit the bullet and got a few decoys and some calls. Heading out scouting in a few hours!

i have hunting both big and small games with rifle and handgun, i am going into archery Now.

Same as the last three years. Kill a bull with my bow. Close, oh so close so far. Preferably by the middle of September so I can go fishing. This elk obsession is messing with my fall fly fishing.
