I can’t seem to get enough content as far as hunting rifles go..

What is your go-to? Why? Drop a pic below!

I’ll start! My current go-to is a Model 70 Extreme Weather MB. .308. Suppressed with a SilencerCo Harvester Evo. Scope is a Vortex Razor HD LHT 3-15x44 MOA. Bought new late 2021 and probably only have 30-40 total rounds through it. One knocked down an 8pt Whitetail buck this year.

As of now I plan to take this elk hunting in Montana in ‘23 unless I add another rifle to the collection.

This one has been what I’ve grabbed for moose and bear use for the past 5 years or so. It’s a Remington 700xcr2 375HH, I had the bolt handle welded on at accu-tig and I put a trigger tech trigger in it. It’s got basic leupold dual dovetails and a 2.5-8x36 leupold with the B&c reticle. It’s helped me get thousands of pounds of meat and dumped a few pretty nice bears. (I didn’t use it on the fish in the picture). You can sort of see it sitting there on top of that moose.

This year I’m hoping to give this set up some work. It’s a tikka t3x 30-06, it’s been cut back to 18” and threaded/shouldered with 5/8x24 threads so I can use my silencers on it. It’s got sportsmatch TO84s, SHV 3-10, high desert bottom metal, vertical grip and a limbsaver recoil pad. I’d like to get a new stock for it but not sure which one yet. It’s getting good speeds with my 180g partition hand loads and is just over 8lbs with the silencer on it.

A new one for me this year. Kimber Hunter in .308, removed some stock gel, cut the barrel to 19", and topped with a Leupold VX-3i 3.5x10x40. I use a safari sling to carry the rifle and to apply slight downward pressure while shooting off a tripod. I put about 450 rounds through it this year practicing and was able to take a young bull elk with it in October. With the safari sling and four rounds of ammo, it weighs 6.5 pounds and has been a dream to carry.

If you ever decide its taking up too much room let me know. 😉

Mine is a T3X in 6.5cm with an SWFA 3-9X42. I don't even have a picture of it. Here it is with a 6X. 20220626_191540.jpg

Wait! That's not my rifle, LOL. And it does have a 3-9 on it. Mine is stainless, but you can use your imagination. 😁

ETA: Here it is! Bought it with some savings bonds my mother found in a safety deposit box that were purchased in 1975 or 6. She told me to buy myself something I really wanted, and not to spend it responsibly. I will never sell it. She was always my biggest fan and thought it was really cool my wife and I were learning how to big game hunt together.

Go to rifle depends. For 75% of my hunting my 7-08ai with a 140gr absolute hammer at 3003fps is my go to. If elk or bears are the target I grab my Browning x bolt hells canyon long range in .300 win mag driving a 199gr hammer hunter at 3060fps. Both get suppressed with a silencerco harvester evo.D6B64AA4-3DC6-4F8B-88B7-9D72C9A956F3.jpeg

Sweet rig right there. I chopped and suppressed my McWhorter 7mm08 and wish I'd done it sooner .

Gamemaster 760 in 30-06. Its a gun I picked up for $150 with a $150 scope on it. Shot inch groups at 100 yards and I don't care if it gets scratches and dings and dents....

I got mine from my grandpa who got in the 1950s. Killed my first buck an bunch of other deer with it. Will never not use it for whitetails. Someday I’m gonna shoot an elk with it because he always wanted to and never did.
