Hey guys, does anyone have any suggestions for a comfortable pair of dress boots for sidewalk hiking in the city? I wear Carolina loggers everyday for work and have some twisted X moc toe steels for meetings and stuff but I’m not in love with them. My wife likes to travel and I’m looking for a pair of boots that are nice enough to wear out with her but comfortable enough to keep up with her too.

Redwing, Timberland, Ariat, and Blundstones. I think the Blundstones are the most comfortable to my feet. The Ariats and Timberlands are tied for 2nd. The Ariats win on price.

I don't get along with the Redwings as well for some reason, and they were the most expensive and best looking of all of them.

Clarks desert boots is the answer.

I bought myself a pair over 9 years ago, on my 21st bday, and still use them today (a lot). They’re all leather, and like all leather products, have aged very nicely and are incredibly comfortable once they broke in. They look better today than they did when I bought them. My uniform most weeks is sport coat and jeans, and these are my go to.
In fact, I think it’s my longest owned piece of clothing.

My only gripe is that the sole lacks traction in snow.

Took my wife to Paris for our 40th. Stopped in this place after reading an article before we left. Top quality hand made shoes. Would highly recommend them. Line is heavily weighted toward outdoor/chukka style with stout soles. Price was 1/2 of everything else we saw.

Check out Sanders UK. They have some cool stuff without going bananas on price.
