What is the best Quarter bore hunting bullet?

Looking at all the options and would like to hear what you think is the best one for terminal performance.

You need to include the partitions and accubonds. The partition is what all others are compared too. They are both better than any of the Hornady offerings and Berger offerings if you’re looking at it strictly from a hunting bullet.

The 135 tmk when it releases will be interesting. 134 eldm might be the most consistently devastating at the moment (no experience).

I shot 3 deerts with my prc this year. 2 does with 135 bergs at 100 and 300 (3050 fps), and a muley buck at 430 with the 133 (3090 fps). The 135s actually did more damage. I also hit harder stuff and was closer. The 133 pushed about a 2.5" circle thru the lungs of the muley. Not as much goo. And surprisingly didnt hear the hit/thump like I usually do. I'll be getting the tmks to try when they come out. Both of those bergers shoot really well though!

And the mule deer at 430. Not a ton of reaction. A Lil hop and a 50 yard death run.

Terminal performance the 115gr Nosler ballistic tips have been pretty awesome for me out of .25-06’s.

I'm not a long distance shooter of game. 300+/- is my personal limit. That said, 110 Accubonds and 100 TTSXs give excellent performance from 3 257 Roberts.

Hammer 92 grain at 3850 fps has been good.Three mule deer at 150,400, 655 yards and a antelope at 400yards.The 100 ttsx hit great but a couple of had to hit again from shot close.

Can't speak on the new heavier bullets from personal experience because I haven't used them. I have been very pleased with the performance of the 115 HVLDs on game. They were also very easy to tune for what ever that matters. Great precision and violent.

That’s good to know. VLD’s have a reputation for being finicky so I’m glad to hear they perform well and easy to load for.

I switched to Winchester copper Impact. The gun liked it and it has been devastating under 150. You get some drops and maybe bone at the beginning and then 15 yards away is a damn murder scene until you walk up to the deer.

133 Berger at 3185 MV

My experience since October of 2025-

WT Deer at 456 yds, slight quartering away shot, bullet entered behind right shoulder lined up with offside shoulder. It went in and the biggest piece went down, put a golf ball size hole through the brisket and exited. The rest went into the offside shoulder. Animal, ran three steps and was done.

Aoudad at 366 yds. Broadside, went through right shoulder, destroyed lungs, and I dug the jacket out of the offside shoulder. Animal fell, stood up, fell and rolled down hill.

WT Deer- 166 yds went in right shoulder, exited left shoulder. Both shoulders were broken, 1” wound on right shoulder, 2.5” wound on left shoulder. Animal fell down, rolled over and was expired.

Numerous Hogs, at least 25 of them. All quickly went down, some ran a little others didnt. I didnt open them up. Shots were from 50 yds to 700 yds or so.

Just pick one that your gun shoots well and is designed to perform to your liking.

Out of a 25-06 we’ve had very quick kills with 100 BT, 115 BT, 115 Partitions, 117 InterLocks, and 120 Fusions. Longest poke was 415, most of the rest under 350. 1 in 10 barrels, so no experience with the newer heavy stuff, but I am sure they will work very well.

That said I am going to start load dev with the 128 eldx this weekend. I think once my barrel has sped up/broken in I should be up around 2,900 with those. Assuming they shoot well they should do anything I ask of them terminally out to 600 yards.

Currently 59gr of N565 seated approximately 30k off lands. I had PBB throat my barrel pretty long, I'm honestly not sure I could seat a Berger 133 or 135 if I wanted to unless I was jumping them .100 or so. I'm going to try 58.5, 59, and 59.5 of N565 with the 128's and see what happens.
