What is on your hunting bucket list?

1. Elk (maybe this year in WY)
2. Caribou (should have gone sooner)
3. Mule Deer (as big and as often as possible)
4. Roebuck (to go with my Fallow, Muntjac and Chamois when I was stationed in Europe)

Got the elk done and I think I’m priced out for caribou.

Mule deer is up to #1.

No Bucketlist now - Just hope to still get out and Whtetail Deer Hunt for as long as I can. And Using a Muzzleloader more for my Deer Hunting and not so much a Centerfire Rifle... Working on that.
Maybe just Maybe Score a Michigan Bull ELk License but not looking good after 25 years applying still have yet to get 1!

Saw three last season, but couldn't connect.

Likely sounds fairly ordinary for most guys on here but just doing a Western Mule deer and Elk hunt. Where I am at in my career finding the time to figure out what units to apply for, building points, getting a draw, figuring out how to pre-scout, etc is a daunting time commitment. Getting off work for a week is fine but the whole process leading up to it without having any knowledge of the area is a big thing.

May need to find someone who wants to do a trade for some great lakes grouse hunting or just hire a guide if I want to do it anytime this decade.

1) Javelina (with a bow)
2) Monster Northern Pike (I've caught a ton of them but, I want that, "knock your socks off," huge one.)
3) Nilgai
4) Arkansas / Louisiana duck hunt
5) Argentina dove hunt (crossing this one off in a few weeks)
6) Ptarmigan hunt

Healthy Scratch - you may want to check out the Innoko River in Alaska to catch that monster pike. It flows into the Yukon River, from the south. Nearest village is Unalakleet. We used to fly in there back in the ‘80’s from Unalakleet River Lodge and fish for big pike & sheefish. Caught pike over 50” long, biggest was 53-54” if memory serves me. It’s very remote so I doubt it’s changed much, if at all. Time it right and you may be able to hunt Ptarmigan on same trip.

Thanks, I'll definitely look into it. Funny thing I just did my first Alaska fishing trip this past July (Kenai and Homer; salt water and salmon). It was awesome. I never though of northerns in Alaska but, it makes sense. My brothers, cousins and I typically go to northern Ontario and Quebec every couple of years for walleye and pike. This June we are going to lake Ogascana (Quebec). We are always looking for new-remote places to fish. Alaska for northerns might be just the ticket! Thank-you, again!

I don’t know who presently runs Unalakleet River Lodge but it’s probably still owned by the Unalakleet Native Corp. they bought it from an ownership group I was a member of, so I fished there multiple times over the years. That watershed has, or at least had, fantastic fishing for Kings, Silvers, Dolly Varden and Arctic Grayling. World class grayling! Like 26-27” fish. It’s a short float plane flight from the lodge to the Innoko, so you might start by checking out Unalakleet River Lodge as a starting point.

Don't wait for your buddy. I had a friend that I tried to talk into Sheep hunting for 30 + years. went on my own 5-6 times and finally found a partner 3 years ago. Shot a ram. Wish I had moved on and found someone else years ago.
