What I learned my first caribou hunt

How did you hunt with Arrowhead go?
Pretty flawless actually. We were taken good care of, not only for planning in advance, but during the hunt and the people working for Arrowhead. I had a lot of questions of the unknown and Misty had no hesitation in answering any silly questions I had. I interacted with her via email and a few phone calls. There is also a Facebook page they have and had a wealth of knowledge and communication amongst booked hunts or previous hunts.

To and from was a journey in itself. They tell you to plan for two days of travel on the front side and back side of your hunt for a reason. You can make it in one trip, but a good meal, a cold drink, and one last sleep in civilization in Coldfoot is worth it. This also gives you plenty of time to stop along the way there and take it all in. We saw multiple moose, big caribou herds, and musk ox on the way up and the scenery around the pass is something to take in.

As for the hunt, we flew in and didn't see anything for 3 days. We reached out to get moved and they were more than happy to oblige the request. We moved to another area and we had 5 bulls within a mile of us immediatlely. We made a plan, waiting the waiting period from the day you fly and filled on tag the next morning and the second one two days later due to me sucking at shooting otherwise we would have tagged out day one of the move.

Would I hunt Arrowhead again, no I probably wouldn't and not because of what they did, but because the DIY adventure calls to me now that I know the process. I do however 100% recommend them for your first time going and have recommended them a number of times to people. There are a lot of logistics and things to sort out going up there and having Arrowhead handle and almost 100% guarantee success was one less thing for me to stress about. They did everything right and even gave me money back on the extra gear flight that I paid for and didn't end up needing.

Hope this helps and if you have more questions, I'm happy to help!
