Maybe this is me being ignorant, but why do people bury their sh*t? Bears and lions? I've never had a thought bout burying it

Pretty sure it’s a requirement in wilderness areas.

Guess I should be doing more research and burying it. Honestly haven't had a thought about it til this thread

I'm assuming you use TP when you do your business? If you aren't burying that you are a horrible person! Just kidding, but that really does need to be buried in my opinion unless you are taking it out with you (gross!). Look up Leave No Trace. In my opinion it is a good philosophy to take into the woods. It goes beyond TP and talks about stuff like blaring music in the woods and other stuff that just makes the outdoors less fun for everyone else around you.

That’s what me and pretty much all of my buddies have been doing for years now. Dig a hole, do your business, burn your toilet paper, and bury it.

Why not just bury the TP too? Isn't it biodegradable?

Probably, but I don’t know exactly how long it takes to break down, I do know that I’ve seen piles of toilet paper along some of our streams up here that appeared to be several seasons old.
