What hunting rig are you running/how do you use it

Those of you using truck toppers, what are you sleeping on? Cots, mattress, air mattress?

We took my buddies f250 with a topper this year.. he had the decked drawers then a memory foam pad over the top. Plenty of room and super easy to just move spots

No but if you search for “ over landing forums” you should be able to get some decent info. I forget the name of the big forum but they have sections just for different vehicles

My first hunting rig was an '05 Camry. What a fantastic car that was. I bought it with 115k miles on it in 2015 and sold it over the summer with 280k on it. It crossed the 200k mark pulling a trailer to WY for my first western hunt ever. Obviously it was a daily driver conscripted into service.

My current hunting rig is also a daily driver that gets conscripted into service. '14 Subaru Forester. It's been a great vehicle as well. Bought with 115k and currently at 182k. Been as far as WY and to plenty of places here in NC including the OBX.

I've been looking at trucks though. Probably at some point this year I'll finally move into the truck zone. Still gonna be a daily though and not a dedicated hunting rig. One step at a time.

Man, I miss not caring about anything and just hunting. This post reminded me of that. Just taking what you have and making it work! Now I apparently need “gear” so dumb. Thanks for the post buddy!
