What Happened to Sitka?

Seems like Barklow is making the podcast rounds and still with Sitka which is great news, and hopefully means some new product launches on the next month or so.

I’m guessing there will be a new ascent pant with side vents, I’ve seen a few dudes wearing these but not sure what model they are exactly.

I've been using Sitka since the Mothwing days. They've got some good pieces. But I'm finding that Kuiu seems to be better. And mixing and matching brands including non mainstream hunting brands.

Just looked at them on their website. They actually look great in every aspect except price.

I’ve always wanted timberlines with hip vents and the entire waterproof lower leg and integrated gaiter is a nice update. I wear gaiters pretty frequently with my timberlines but 329 is steep. The kuiu axis hybrid is effectively the same pant that can be had at almost half the price right now in a decent amount of colors.

It’s a good feature rich pant for sure but that camo and solid color combination looks like ass, needs more of the pant to be camo or just offer it as a complete camo or solid.

They're gonna step in and try to take advantage of the latest SG debacle. I don't like the prices but if you wait you can get excellent deals. The jetstream LT looks interesting but no solid colors yet. They're opening retail stores left and right also. Not sure if that's good or bad.

Kurt sold off the company to a corporate conglomerate and they are moving to California. Prices also went way up due to "tariffs". There's another whole thread about this.

When you zoom out and look at the full line of Sitka products, it’s clear the market is flooded with options, many from trusted brands at a lower price point. In that context, it often makes more sense to go with the less expensive alternatives.
I bought some of the first hunting clothes from Under Armour years ago, and the quality has been outstanding. They’re still going strong after many seasons and I expect they’ll last for years to come. similar experience with Kuiu and few other brands, Durability like that speaks volumes.
