Organization night. Have brass in various states all over my bench. Bought a few 6.5qt hdx totes from Home Depot and a label maker so I could store them according to their current stage of “reload readiness”. 200 rds of 22CM rolling in corn cobs.

Loaded 30 rounds of 30BBM with Berger 215hyb and hoover pointed tips. Then loaded 30 rounds of 30BSM with 215 berger hyb and MTAP cut tips. Getting ready for testing at distance. Did final tuner test today so onto actual scoring yay.

Just got back from the range.
The thrown Varget shot great.
Acceptable ES and SD. Seems like it would be an easy bulk load. And you always know you can trickle the same charge if you REALLY need perfect ES and SD.

That’s where I ended up as well. It’s a solid load that shoots well.

Is that the 170g bullet?

I have a 100-173g Markell bullets I got from a flea market almost 20 years ago. I'm planning to load 50 in 38 cases to have for carry rounds and 50 in 357 cases for hunting rounds. I'll probably use 300mp for 357 loads and maybe 231 for the 38 special

Keep it simple. Learn some good bench shooting fundamentals to be able to shoot small groups. Make consistent loads, and shoot larger samples of the combo you're testing to get a better understanding of how it shoots, not a bunch of small samples of tweaks and tests (seating depth, powder charge, looking for "nodes" ). If it shoots good, load a bunch and go practice. If it doesn't, swap a component like bullet, or powder, and test until you find something satisfactory.

Also, lower your expectations from what you read on the internet. 1/4 MOA rifles and single digit ES's don't exist in the centerfire world.

Played with a new 6.5CM load yesterday. 147 ELD-M at 2.885” with 41.5gr H4350 and a F210. Four shots went into 0.5” at 100, then I sent four down to the 350 yard gong. Those four went inside a spray paint lid, and only drifted 3-4” with a 10mph crosswind with gusts to 23mph. I never waited for the wind to settle — just held the edge and sent them. That strong BC is impressive!

I loaded 50 of the latest plinking round for my 338-284, which are generally whatever the cheapest seconds I can find are when I’m running low. These are a 225 flat base soft point. Sierra pro hunter maybe?

Nice. I love me some factory seconds. I just picked up some 338 250 grain Nosler seconds and some 170 grainers too, not sure what they are. The 30 cal Berger 115g seconds are absolutely lights out for me in 300 blk.

Messed around with a new 9.3mm concept. Ran some Peterson .338 Wby RPM brass through a 9.3 expander and seated a 242gr HHT to 3.53” to fit within a UM Tikka DBM.

I’m on backorder for a Tikka 9.3x62. May have a reamer done up to rechamber it to the 338 RPM case body. Very close in case capacity to a 9.3-338 Win Mag, but uses the std bolt face and will fit an extra round in the mag.

36 rounds of 162Eldx in 7mm08, last pieces of 1x fired brass before trim

100 rounds 108 EOL in 1x starline in 243win and 50 Rounds of 105 VLD in 3x Hornady

50 rounds of 156 EOL in 6.5 PRC in 1x Peterson with H1K

This weekend...

Then getting set to load little over 100 rounds of 6.5CM mostly 130 TMK and whatever I have left of 140 ELdm

Then ill load 300 rounds of virgin 5.56 starline brass to get a firing on it before loading it all with 88TMK
