What did you do at the range today?

Working on subsonic 38 Special in a 16” Marlin lever rifle. Using Bullseye and 125 gr plated projectiles, 4 grains of powder netted ~ 1000 fps. That was good enough for me. Came home and loaded 500 rounds. Should be fun, cheap, shooting.

That's gotta be an absolute blast to shoot. Are you suppressing it too?

Yes sir! I bought a SiCo Hybrid 46 a few weeks ago. Way too much fun.

My new semi-custom Tikka T3X 6.5 CM w/ 20" barrel, wooden RokStok, SWFA 6x, AB Raptor 8 w/ 3" reflex. 10.0 pounds. 45.75" long.

This rifle also experienced an unexpected drop test. The magnum rifle shooters interrupted my string to ask me to please go cold. Flustered, but not wanting to offend anyone since I literally joined yesterday, I left it on the bag. And it promptly fell three feet onto concrete. Zero did not shift (but the brand new AB suppressor took the brunt of the fall).

Shooting AAC 140-grain FMJs (cheapest ammo I could find at the time). On the box velocity of 2700 FPS. Fired 54 rounds, got an average FPS of 2508 with Std Dev of 31.

I had a bit of mirage, despite the suppressor cover, by the time I got to this group. That, and I suck.

Geez, that's a really nice looking rifle. Funny enough. I bought a rikka super lite. I like it but don't love it. I am getting back into bolt guns. So in looking to build a 18" shorty tikka. But right now I'm looking to take my tikka out of the krg bravo it's in and place it in a bag composite

Good grief. That’s got to be such a good feeling after dealing with the NAS cases and the pierced primers.
I’ve got a half pound of lever, and plan on a little peer review of this combo lol.

Played around with my new 6 GT. Pretty happy with the load, shooting was just so so.

What are you all using for ear protection these days? I like to double plug it, but finding that muffs get uncomfortable after a while and can interfere with some stock combs.

Plugs and muffs shooting anything unsuppressed, and it varies with suppressed guns. Usually just the plugs if the muffs are getting in the way. Mack's silicone putty plugs are pretty effective, and cheap.

The kids and I have shot a bit of .22lr the last few days and maybe a magazine through the 6.8spc out to ~425. The eye seems to be healing to the point that I'm comfortable with a bit more recoil (it doesn't hurt, I just don't want to push my luck with the new lens).

Anyway, I went to the range by myself about an hour ago. Three shots from the 6.5cm, seated with poles, at 550 yards. 16" plate, the first shot was the worst but still within an (imaginary) ~8.5" circle. And, best, I did this on 8x. I genuinely believe the new lens and being able to see clearly again is going to make me way more comfortable at mid-range magnifications (meaning ~6x to ~12x) again.

Picked up my 22ARC lastnight and took her for a spin this morning. After a quick barrel break in, I walked it out to 700yds then ran out of ammo. Loading more up tonight and will go out to 1k tomorrow

Stage 6 moving target at 540 yds
Target moving back and forth @2.8 mph
5 positions on big rocks move after 3 hits. So 15 hits to clean it
90 sec to work your magic
I got 2 hits

On the way to the “range” yesterday. The Tikka 223 with the NXS. 2.5-10x32 is strapped onto the snowboard rack on the tunnel. No care taken outside of how I normally ride. Shows the importance of a gun setup that doesn’t suck.

Not Today but yesterday I did load development for my 300RUM.
Shooting 215 Hybrid OTM
Using N-570, 4th firing on Rem annealed brass, Fed215M, C.o.a.l. 3.855,
95grs was my max.At 3307fps
Found a good node between 93. to 93.5
Settled on 93.3 At 3220fps..3 sd.
Picture below is 12 shots with the 3 loads.
Now I need to stretch it out to 300 and 500yds.
