What did Santa bring you?

Grandpa passed this year, dad got some of his memorabilia. Dad gave me this, Gramps pulled it off a Nazi Officer who’s soul he took in the aftermath of the Battle of the Bulge. I believe it’s an officer’s R.A.D dagger, from the small amount of research I’ve done. Also got a Norinco folding stock SKS. Christmas was dope.

@BeastOfTheTrees - wow that's an incredible story. My wife's grandfather went through Europe and the bulge also, he came back with some german binoculars. They are probably still sitting in storage somewhere after he died.

Keeping the WW2 knife thing going, this Christmas my dad passed down a Cattaraugus 225Q Knife that my grandfather had for years and always wore around his belt during deer season. He wasn't in the war or anything, no idea on the history.

A Jetboil but after listening to Kifarucast on stoves, I should have gone with an MSR Windburner. I guess you can’t go wrong with having two stoves.

Had a pretty good day!

I can’t decide on the knife tho!

They literally make them 5 miles from me but I can’t get me hands on one into look at. Considering the Necker Caper or Mini Aurora or Bird and trout.

Good problem to have!

I got a First Lite Tundra balaclava. I had asked for one last Christmas. Man I could have used it on Kodiak this year! And on whitetail treestand in MT! The windproof material and the fleece are going to be just the ticket for staying warm.

New stainless fermenter for homebrewing. Fermentation chamber filling up with lagers.

I'm finally going to try to get an elk/antelope/whatever tag this year, so I've been making not so subtle hints about things i've needed. I think I made off with a pretty good haul.

Vortex diamondback 8x42 (way unexpected gift from an uncle who i've been hunting with the last two years).
first lite fuse zip off long johns, catalyst jacket, and some gloves
eddie bauer fleece lined guide pants and down vest
kammock UL hammock kit
nemo tensor mattress pad
flint and tinder waxed cotton vest
deuter 60L aircontact lite backpack

plus a bunch of other nonhunting/backpacking related things

Good luck on choosing just one bark river. Those things caused me a decent amount of marital stress for quite some time haha. Beautiful knives, though.
