Barnes 250 gr Expander MZ at about 80 yards quartering to on a whitetail buck. Good lung damage as usual, bullet recovered almost backwards under the hide near back of rib cage. I almost always get pass throughs with this bullet, but I think the widely expanded bullet tumbled when hitting the far side ribs.

120 TTSX from a .280 Ackley at about 40 yards quartering away. Whitetail buck dropped. Surprisingly no exit, didn't recover bullet, as it was hot and I was donating the deer, which had to be delivered whole.

100 gr Hornady BTSP from a 6mm Remington, 300 yards quartering away on a whitetail doe. Silver dollar sized hole in the on side ribs, good lung damage. Bullet shattered the off side shoulder blade right at the ridge, then exited with a 50 cent piece exit through the off side ribs. First time I've used this bullet since 1987, and from the same box of bullets.

90 gr Absolute Hammer at 280 yards from a .257 Wby on a mule deer buck. Broke both shoulders and dropped so fast I missed seeing it due to recoil.

White tailed doe 126 yds. 50 Cal muzzleloader 250gr Barnes TEZ. 0 yds recovery.
White tailed buck 200 yds. .308 165 Tipped Game King. 0 yds recovery.
White tailed buck 289 yds. 308 165 Tipped Game King. 10 yd recovery.
White tailed doe 210 yds. 308 165 Tipped Game King. 5 yd recovery.
White tailed doe 320 yds. 25-06 110 Tipped Game King. 0yd recovery
White tailed doe 310 yds. 25-06 110 Tipped Game King 20 yd recovery.

215 Berger/300rum
Muley buck - 100ish yds neck shot DRT
Raghorn bull elk - 220yd slightly quartered to. Entered in the crease and exited catching some guts. Bang flop. Devastating as usual.

.358 200 gr Sierra Pro-hunter in a 35 Remington

I loaded some 178 Eld-x’s in my 30 T/C this year but didn’t take anything with them.

6cm - 108 VLD and 108 eld-m. Had better results personally with the VLD

6.5 Saum - 156 EOL. Bad medicine for everything I’ve pointed it at

.243 cal 105 berger hybrid target.
7 pronghorn 200-800 yards. Massive damage 💔. While I am not a fan of most bergers I have used in other calibers, this one is a keeper. Expands violently even down to 1,900 fps. Maybe a bit too violent, but they ain't getting away.
Never got a chance to test on elk, but bear season is not far away.

200gn Nosler partition - 30-06

Whitetail buck at about 90 yards. Broadside Pass through, both lungs and cut heart. Fell in its tracks and took 3 more breaths.

210 berger HVLD. Have been using this bullet in a particular rifle for the last 5 years. its never failed to kill. it is however very violent when it hits bone. I have lost a few off side shoulders to quartering away shots. the bullet is also great for steel at distance. overall very happy with it

4 whitetail with 147 eldms leaving the muzzle at 2670. Ranges varied from 80 yds to about 150. 2 deer ran but left great blood trails. 2 were DRT. All 4 were dead within about 15 seconds.
1 elk with a 180g TTSX. 1st impact was at around 2600 fps. Second was closer. Turned into a rodeo due to bad shooting by yours truly.
1 whitetail doe at 50 yds or so with 55g SP factory hornady from a 223. Slightly quartering away. Great exit wound and wound channel. I could follow the blood trail at a steady walk. She was dead within 10 seconds or so. I heard her crash and could see her from the spot she was in when shot.
See if you can guess which of the wounds below was caused by the 223 and which was the 147 eldm.

We used a couple hammer bullets this season in our 280AI’s.
143 HH for Idaho 6x6 bull elk at 459 yards (1-shot by my son).
132 HHT for Nevada 5x4 mule deer at 80 yards (1-shot by me).

110 ATip performed great for me this year.

Spike elk - 200yds
Cow elk - 150yds
Raghorn elk - 405 yds
Cow elk - 500yds
Mule deer buck - 475yds

All animals only required 1 shot. Bullet was found on the offside hide on all except for the cow elk at 500. That one got a complete pass through with about a 1.5”-2” exit hole.

I didn’t get to hunt at home much. I got a doe and a buck in muzzle loader season. I use 110gr black horn 209 with traditions smack down carnivore bullets.
These bullets are very soft and rarely make exit wounds on close shots. The doe was nearly gutted on the entrance side. I had to push her guts back inside to get them out the normal way without puncturing them.

During the rifle season I was in Spain and used a rented Blaser R93 300WM with factory 180gr Remington corelokt. I shot a Gredos Ives at 252 yds and mouflon at 85yds. Both shots were on the shoulder. The mouflon had pieces of jacket around the exit wound. The ibex made it about 20yds and slid downhill. The mouflon went less than 10yds and took about a minute to fully die. f01060d3-cb38-40b2-921c-9c7842107edf.jpegIMG_1420.jpeg

210 Berger Hunting VLD, 300 Win Mag, Roosevelt Bull 504 yards. Double lung, pieces came to rest on the offside ribs. Went about 40 yards.
