Upgrading to an X24 vs adding an XHD external speaker

I currently have a Foxpro Inferno and would like more volume plus better sound quality at that higher volume. Does anyone have experience with adding the XHD external speaker to something like this, or am I better off biting the bullet and buying an X24?

A $600 call is probably not going to be in the budget this year, so I’m trying to decide if adding a speaker will suffice for now.

I added an external speaker to my old spitfire years ago. It helped a lot, but I feel that sound quality was better still with the X24 I thought. The X24 is just tough to beat.

If you don’t want to spend the money this year, buy the external and try it. You’ll probably be satisfied until you get the cash to get an X24.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I know an x24 would be better in every way. Maybe I’ll try a speaker and see if that will get me by for this year.

It's the clarity in reproduction of the sound though man. It's legit life-like...

When you playback a well-recorded audio file, recorded at a nice good solid high bitrate, such as experiencing a well-recorded and well-encoded 320Kbps MP3? Like that or higher level of fidelity? And when presented with a good file like that for playback?... the X24 does it _Justice!_ in terms of it being/sounding-like real-life man!

So then it removes that doubt in your mind of "Or did they just not come in because they can tell this isn't Real?"

I say that thinking about when I first started, with using an ICOTec GC300, which was pretty darn bad sounding, by comparison.

I had inferno with speaker, it was ok but just bite the bullet and get a 24. Less things to lug around and the sound clarity is way better

It's usually better for you, in the long run... to "bite the bullet" and "buy once, cry once" in terms of making the jump up to a higher caliber of a gear item.

And also, not for nothin' but sounds like this is a past time you enjoy, so why not enjoy it more with even better equipment (and results)? And easier to use with even more powerful features!

Also it's great life-like fidelity in playback removes the doubt/thought of thinking maybe something didn't come-in because I'm sucking at my technique with blowing these hand-calls?

So therefore, you have more confidence in making the decision in the field "Hrmm, ok, welp... seems like there aren't any around here then, best move along to another spot." And you feel confident in making that choice because you observe for yourself by having just heard it playing.. just how dang life-like some of these calls can be. So you know you're making the right decision in deciding to move along and try a set elsewhere now.
