As someone who has witnessed someone get a vacuum for a gift, I cannot advise against it more. If you need a new vacuum buy a new vacuum, do not make it so it's a present.

Gift cards and something you know she likes like a certain coffe, socks, pjs, whatever but do not give her cleaning supplies as a gift.

Getting my wife some good merino base layers. She’s suffered in silence with cheap poly underwear for a while and was cold last weekend hunting

Ah yes, it’s that time of year to think about what to buy the ol wifey.

Vacuum is not a good idea. A broom is cheaper.
Haha. My wife likes vacuums, Ive bought two in the past, always a hit. She needs a handheld upgrade. She only likes practical gifts. I know it’s strange.
The broom is for my 2 year old. If they are old enough to toddle they are old enough to toddle with broom and snow shovels. 🙂

I have it bad fellas.... I have Christmas, then our anniversary Jan 28th and then her birthday Feb 8th. So I spend pre hunting season getting her gifts bought so I can focus on hunting season and not have to worry about shopping. So I will give you three ideas!

my wife is a bird watcher so for Christmas I got that theme going with some vortex binos, some birding books and a bino harness

for our anniversary I went to a local blacksmith and he is making us a custom kitchen knife set. https://www.forgedinkol.com/

for her birthday I am going to make a magnetic hanger for the knife set for the kitchen wall.

And more practical. For some wives brooms are dual purpose.....

Haha....this made me laugh.

Man, this thread started strong talking about guy’s wives wanting hunting gear and cool stuff like that. I began thinking “wow, these guy’s wives are way cooler than mine” as my wife has zero interest in hunting.

Then I kept reading and started finding less and less interesting gifts (to me at least) and it made me feel less jealous and more normal.

Not sure what I will be getting her this year but is 2005 I bought her a brand new Yukon XL 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive with a 8.1 liter motor and a dual transmission.
Basically a 4 wheel drive Bus with all the goodies,
And you know what ? it sure works well for those long distance hunting trips. Yes it was for her

A dual trans set up? Bizarre. Why? I understand the gearing advantages, but why not an aftermarket tcase?

My wife...I have no idea. Probably a grab bag of expensive cosmetic/body care type stuff that makes me sneeze, and a gift cert for a lingerie store and hope she doesn't use it for pajamas.

Me and my wife both agree that unless it involves our son or a major emergency, hunting season trumps all. Easiest way to avoid doing something you really don't want to do is go hunting.
