Any reason for TO84 over UM Tikka rings? (Apart from cost)

Old thread but I was deciding between these and it seems that sportsmatch have gotten increased to $90 at airguns of Arizona now. UM gives a 10% Rokslide discount so for a ~$25 difference I don’t see much reason to consider the sportsmatch anymore

I just noticed this as well. I watched the price creep up little by little over the years but the retailers on this side of the pond of caught on and priced them accordingly. I may try to do another order from Europe if the tariffs haven't killed that deal too.

De minimus loophole is gone, so now you pay tariff AND brokerage fee. Unless you can be sure the shipper is paying it for you, which I highly doubt.

Guessing its because the majority of folks direct-mounting to a tikka dont want or need built-in elevation. On anything but a rimfire it only takes a moderate amount of elevation to shoot well-past 1000 yards. Most scopes folks are using for that already have plenty of travel without running into the end of the erector movement. The folks needing more travel are mostly using a rail anyway.

is there a reason the um tikka ring's don’t have 20 moa built into them
Because the rings would have to be positioned at an exact distance from eachother due to the minute angle machined into the bores, otherwise scope tube torque and possibly tube damage would occur. Rings with built in slope require a rail or need to be one-piece construction to allow for the user to setup fore-aft scope position and maintain spacing.

That said, I have a new set of new 1" medium TO48C rings for sale for cheap.
