I took a small, maybe 150# bear hide to my local MO taxi, who didn't really do anything other than ship it to Moyle to flesh and tan it. Paid him $350. It's 4 1/2' long finished after what I'd like to call a bunch of shrinkage..
I haven't handled other tanned bear hides, but mine is pretty thin to where the hair folicles are kind of poking through the back of the hide and rough to the touch. Being my first bear I was surprised at how thin the hide was when I skinned it also though. Very soft hide though!
