Western Hunter Sleep System

I don't always hunt out of a backpack and I value comfort. Wasn't proposing that this was a backpackable sleep system. I suppose I should have been more clear in my original post.

Archaic design, materials and far too heavy as compared with several other systems one can obtain. I had a Wigg-sack several years ago and it SEEMED OK, even quite decent at first, but, I found it crude, heavy and not well made after some use.

There are alternatives and I would suggest looking for some before spending your $$$$$. Canvas shells GET DAMP, even in tents and NEVER dry in the field, as just ONE issue with this.

I cant speak for that particular system....BUT we have had a sleeping bag set up that was cotton lined for years that we loved for our truck sleeping system, and camping where backpacking wasn't in the equation. We have LOVED our cotton lined sleeping bag for that reason, and find it more comfortable than the "ligher bags". From a comfort standpoint, they work out great in the summer and "cooler days" but never really used it in COLD conditions. Hope that helps a little.

that thing would be awesome in my brother's pop up camper!! i wanted something like that. i once saw a horse guy put this gigantic roll on a horse. up on the mountain he rolls out his huge canvas and cotton bedroll..it looked fantastic compared to my sleeping bag. it was similar to this WH thing.

seems kinda expensive, and i think it doenst need the inflatable pad..since it would most likely be a truck camp thing. at this point, i think i will just buy a zero degree fat-dude rectangular sleeping bag and call it good.

I have a similar cowboy bedroll that I use all the time truck camping, absolutely love it! My is just canvas with a storm flap and a piece of foam that I either put a sleeping bag in it or sheets and blanket. Cool thing is you can just leave your pillow and bedding and clothes if you want to in it and roll it up and it's ready to go or store!

My dad has one, pretty dang cool I just haven't been able to pony up and spend the money on it, I have a decent bed roll but nowhere near what this thing is. All my wyoming buddies use is bedrolls. My first trip into the hills with them I packed light, when I saw them loading up theirs up I thought WTF... is that. I was jealous all week in my little mummy bag while they are sprawled out in their big fluffy bedrolls.

I have a similar bedroll that I use when I take the horses. They are very warm and roomy, but huge and heavy. I unzip it for a blanket when I stay in my trailer in November
