Western Hunt Expo recommendations

It's well worth it to me. I like to get my hands on things before I buy if possible. No better place if you are looking for a pack, optics, tripod, etc. Every year I find since little thing that I find cool enough to buy.

This year I have a few things I am checking out, a couple outfitters to talk to, and am also doing the MtnTough workout on Saturday morning. Something to keep my motivation high this time of year and a 1 in 30 chance at a rifle and 1 in about 500 chance at a Sonora Mule Deer hunt.

Im going for my first time. Got myself a hotel and a plane ticket. Ill be there Thursday afternoon and all day Friday looking around amd fingering gear.
I've always wanted to check it out and my days off line up perfectly to go. Just a bummer I'll be solo, nobody i know could join.

There will be plenty of Rokslide staff and members there. Be sure to say hi if you see some of us walking by. I usually try to at least have a Rokslide hat on.

I agree.

Along with being able to check out a ton of gear in person there is no other place that you can observe so many 45 year old wanna be 20 year old again men and women in one place.

I also don’t know what some of those guides are doing but they really have figured out how to kill the exact same animal every year for the last 7-8 years. Seriously impressive.

If you’re really adventurous, start picking random peoples brains. You can’t give up the chance to learn all you can from all those people that are passing 340 bulls and 180 bucks on OTC tags year in and year out.

They do a great job at keeping the air flowing in the place so make sure you tuck your ears into your hat. You can’t risk them catching the right angle and you taking flight.

It is a good show but some of the things you see, really ramps up the entertainment value.
My wife and I along with some friends are driving down from Montana this year. Ive been a few times, and almost my whole reason for taking my wife is the people watching. She is from SE ID, so she understands the Utah crowd explanation completely!
