Hey Roksliders, I met Tim Marshall from Enlightened Equipment just a few weeks ago. Tim designs and builds a quilt sleeping system for ultra-light backpackers. He's made quite the impact in that market and we thought Rokslide would be a perfect fit as we have lots of gram/ounce counters.

If you're thinking "quilt? grandma?" like I was, you're wrong. A "quilt" from Enlightened Equipment functions like a sleeping bag, but takes advantage of the surface area of your ground padding. This means you can drop about half the total weight compared to a traditional bag.

For example, Tim's Enigma 0 degree quilt comes in at just over 21 ozs in a regular while many bags of the same rating tip the scale at 40 or more ounces.

Plus if you just can't get comfortable in a bag, a quilt is a great solution.

Please welcome Enlightened Equipment to Rokslide and be sure and visit his webite at

Enlightened Equipment has the feel of a small town business, but a product that rivals the big dogs.

Thanks for the welcome Robby! I really want to be here to connect with guys out there who need help choosing a product or tweaking their system. I'll try my best not to be a salesman and look forward to getting to know you guys better.

+1 on Tim's great products. I don't have a ton of time in my Rev X quilt but I was instantly a fan. It is almost a no brainer for side sleepers or people who like the freedom to move while sleeping. Plus, with all the features that Tim puts into his quilts, you can easily adjust it to your likes and needs. I am a warm sleeper and I love the ability to open up the footbox on warmer nights so I don't overheat but I can close everything down and strap the quilt to my pad if I want on colder nights to really hold the heat in.
