call them to you. when its that thick you'll likely be looking at a 20 yard or under shot with a bow. its the only way to elk hunt if you ask me.

I seen that video is by Brent, and seen good ol bradly! Brads married to my cousin Amy, those guys on this site?

They are really good friends of ours. We have gone on some really fun hunting trips together over the years. I don't think they are on here. Amy is a sweetheart. I spent a lot of time at their house when I was building homes over in E. WA.

This bear is from a few years back. Brent missed it and Dirtytough (my brother who shot the bear in the video) shot it.

This one is from earlier the same day. Those three had a pretty good trip that weekend!

So you guys hunting the WA high country do you have much luck with bow? I like the mountains, but man I love the costal forest, and for me its bow or nothing. The green moss almost glowing in the sun and the water everywhere is miles away from the corn fields in Iowa (not that those are special in thier own way). Do you guy know of a way to bowhunt the giants on the cost besides the Quinualt lands?

The best way to hunt those bears (in thick cover) is to bait them for sure. Unfortunately in WA the only people who can bait are natives. I think we all should play by the same rules so I have a bit of a problem with that.

I prefer to be up high in the alpine anyway so I just hunt the bears eating in the berry patches. The views up high are pretty hard to beat too. Yes you can get them with a bow. Check out the video I posted above.

Well being I got off at 130am... No where near tired... I think I'll gear up and go for a walk in the hills behind the house! Hope everyone hunting this weekend has some stories and pics to post :)
