Warning Zeiss Scopes: Warranty

Zeiss just needs to improve their customer service/warranty claim policy. End of story.
They need to quit treating their customers like an adversary and take a page out of Swarovski’s or even Vortex’ book. It would improve their sales image, I’d bet?
 
I understand that lifetime warranty is vague and subject to interpretation, but from my experience with Zeiss, when they wouldn’t repair or even clean a 15 year old spotting scope that I bought brand new, and instead said to give them my old spotting scope and buy their latest model at a slight discount, they lost me forever.

I am an old guy. Have dealt with all kinds of warranties with various products. From cars, to washing machines, to computers, to TV’s. Just countless products and warranties.

I have never been treated so poorly as I did with Zeiss.

Anybody buying Zeiss should know they are a terrible company to deal with. Good on sales, but absolutely terrible once you bought their product.
 
Thank you for the experiences shared. I don't want to run an argument or debate on their product warranty. I will say glass was exceptional, but to me, that is pointless with such a short expiry date. I just wanted to share my experience as if I had read this experience from someone else, I would have never purchased a Zeiss. People should go in with all the information, then make whatever decision they want. Freedom is the cornerstone of a functioning society. Freedom to know, freedom to share, freedom to choose.
