Warmest base layer bottoms

Generally, the cold is an issue when sitting. I am a huge fan of puffy pants with a zipper on each leg from top to bottom. They are very packable and they add tons of warmth when sitting. I reluctantly added them to my kit in 2023 and have used them less than 10 times, but I have loved them when I have used them.

Another vote for First Lite merino base layers. I get too hot walking in and out, processing a deer, etc. to wear everything to the blind or stand, so I rely on Kuiu Superdown or Kifaru lost park pants once I get where I’m going.
