WANTED: Your Top 5 Base Camp Tips or Hacks

Large water bag at camp, fill it up at night and water for the next day is filtered and ready when we wake up. Hate pumping water after getting back to camp at night.
If we are camping at the truck we bring water coolers and filter straight in. Nice having water handy and easy.

Keep your “Base Camp” mobile! Be able to tear down and move in a couple of hours max so you are hunting where the animals are. Learned this after 10+ years of hunting the same base camp. Have killed 3x more elk by being mobile vice anchored in one camp.
I second this. Had to do it for the first time last year and with three of us it only took four hours to move and re set up a wall tent 30 miles away in another area. Was still able to go out for an evening hunt.

I’m a big fan of the Nemo Roamer camping pad, firmness is adjustable by adjusting the amount of air inside but it also has foam inside that makes it almost as comfortable as a regular mattress, but folds up easily to a packable size (smaller than a sleeping bag)
Will need to check this out. thanks
