Walmart grocery delivery

We’ve been having groceries delivered to our home by Walmart for a couple of years now. Periodically, we noticed items we ordered, and paid for, were never delivered. So we started tracking the items paid for vs the items received. The closer we tracked, the more we realized was missing. Sometimes, there are so many items missing, an entire bag or two of groceries is missing.

I don’t know if it’s a mistake on the part of the Walmart employees or if the delivery drivers are helping themselves to our groceries and hoping nobody notices.

When we do know items are missing, we call Walmart and (after struggling with the maddening customer service robot) we get a store credit.

Is it just me or has anybody else noticed this? if I had to guess, I would guess the delivery drivers are helping themselves to groceries. The missing items always seem to be the higher cost durables like soap, shampoo, etc.

We’re thinking about switching to Amazon for most items and buying milk, fruit, etc at the local stores. Does anybody have any experience with Amazon groceries and could they recommend it?

Thanks

I had 1 item missing once, and a few times I’ve had items missing that were simply out of stock, but they automatically refund if an item is out of stock. Sounds like your drivers might be helping themselves

I guess I'm old fashioned, when I go grocery shopping, I go to the grocery store!

I only live 1/2 mile from a Walmart, I literally walk or bike sometimes, but it’s also nice when I need just a few things because I’m not walking around the store making impulse buys to get those few items. We have the Walmart+ membership for the paramount+ streaming so we get the free delivery anyway

You dont have to call anyone dude. Just go to the app you placed the order in, tell them what was missing and they refund you immediately.

We dont do delivery but use the same app for curbside pick up. If we get something that had a broken seal or even produce that was bad my wife reports it in the app and it's never questioned.

Scary part is aside from walmart, all chain grocery stores are owned by the same 2 corporations who have been trying to merge for years. Worst part is the own the distributors so the small chains are easy to force out. This situation is why food prices sky rocket faster than oil speculation now. Im betting in the next ten years we will see something in the food industry akin to how medical billing and health insurance works. That will be real easy when no one goes in a store to see what prices are actually marked on a shelf. Of course now if you go in any place you better bring a W-4 form with you since you will get to find which stocking cart the food is on and then check out and bag your own food. Once you do that you will have 2 or 3 employees standing by the door to make sure you didnt steal the food after they refused to open a checkout for you.

I live 20 minutes from town and Walmart plus has been a game changer. I will not drive to town unless i have to. That being said my wife and I have also had a few things go missing and believe the delivery driver is the issue. We just use the app and are able to get refunded instantly for missing items.
