VX-L value?

Hey all one of my buddies asked me to swap scopes on his rifle for him. No problem. He swings it by my house and it’s got a VX-L 4.5-14x56 b&c 30mm SF that he’s replacing with a Zeis 6-24. He also ask if I’d be interested in buying the VX-L. I’ve never been around them much but remember thinking there were the coolest thing when I was younger when they came out. Anyway what’s one of these worth and are they decent scopes? It’s got a decent spot where the front ring was loose at some point and messed up the finish a bit but other wise all looks good and shot good before it was pulled.

I own 5 vx-3L scopes…. (2) 50mm and (3)56mm.. I think they are the best hunting scope for the area we hunt.. only 1 of the scopes I own is alluminated. The covers for the scope are hard to find but doable. I’ve bought all of the used from $600-$1750…
I’m looking for another 3.5-10x50 for my daughter.. they seem to be running around $800-$1200 in that size
