Looking for real-world experience with VPA 3 blade on elk. Wondered about lower profile would have good penetration and/or pass through. Anyone using on Elk?

Rx8 67lb, 275-280fps, 480gr arrowWhat are your bow/arrow specs?
I had no such problems at all.My only real problem with them is that they have been a very fickle head to keep flying good. They are great for broadhead tuning because if anything is wrong, they will show it
I have used them in 125gr, so can’t speak on any other model, and 200gr with recurves. They do rust easy, but treat them with purple magic chain lube as needed, and it’s easy enough to stay ahead of
Flight is what would keep me using them with compounds, but my sample size is pretty small

Yeah I think bow set up is enough. I haven't gone down the 2 blade, single bevel fixed blade. You aren't going to have penetration problems. Shoot a bigger cut diameter.
Appreciate that point, but I dont find elk rib bone is cut easily, usually causes some degree of reflection. Looking at some data that Lusk puts out, the small diameter BH for fixed usually give a little more penetrationRibs cut real easy. So does the thin part of the scapula. I'm a little lighter and slower than you, my favorite elk head is the rage trypan.
Oh wow, good info..thanks manI like the omega way better from flight stand point. I had both vented and solid 3 blade versions and they were some worst flying heads I ever used. Even from a hooter shooter the groups were terrible.
