Vortex viper 8x42 vs leupold bx4 pro guide 8x42

Hey just looking for anyone whos owned the new leupold bx4 whats the opinion on them? Im trying to decide between the vortex and the leupold for my new bino purchase for glassing elk in the thick oakbrush
I currently have a pair of 1st gen viper 12x50s and i love them but theres a deal on the leupold for 400$ right now whereas the vipers are 480$
I dont know anyone whos owned the leupolds and most the reviews are just repeating the description of them but they seem solid

For a short time I owned both Viper HDs and BX4 Pro guides hd Gen 1. Mine were both 10x though.

Honestly to my eyes both were about equal. After spending a weekend of sitting behind both glassing various areas in various lighting conditions I ended up keeping the Leupold. Overall I liked it the best but it was not a land slide victory.

I got a pair of the bx4s from Leupold for a warranty on an old pair of cascades. The eye cups on the gen 1s are terrible. I never compared side by side with my vipers but I think the glass was pretty similar.
