Midway has the Gen one Vortex gen 1 11-33-50 for 399 the new gen 2 vapor is 599. I don't care about the ARCA rail as my tripod isn't set up for that. Is there a reason to spend more money.

more range work and spotting from car so looking a a straight one does this make science? it will be my first spotting scope.

The new Viper 11-33 is better than the Gen1 Razor 11-33? I was under the impression it was the same guts in both, just a new housing.
He didn’t say which models. I don’t know that deep into Vortex line up. Ignore my comment…

I had a Razor 11-33. At higher magnification I found it underwhelming for my needs.
This is especially true with less expensive glass. The top 1/4 to 1/3 if magnification becomes almost unusable because the flaws are magnified.

Agree. I wanted to like this scope due to weight but with field use it wasn't all that helpful IME. Glassing a buck 600-800 yards. Unusable on the upper end. This was not a low light scenario. Low end was okay but I had better clarity with my 10x42 SLC. Side-by-side comparison.
