Let me first say I'm not a long range shooter for sport, yet. I most likely will limit my hunting range from 400-500 yds. I was pretty well set on the Vortex(non GB version) when i found what seems to be a great deal on the Leica at Scheels. After discounts I could get both come out to about $400 each.
It might be fun to have the optional ballistics calculator in the Leica. Research says both will have great optics.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Both are good, I have been able to range farther with the vortex 4000 and like it. It ranges much faster than my older rangefinders. I'm on the fence about selling mine only because I want ballistics for my long range stuff

Following. I am in almost exactly the same boat as you OP.
I ordered both. The Leica came in and I have to say it's impressive. I'm still playing around with the ballistics app. It comes with 2 different menus for bullets. The Leica selection is very slim but the AB menu has a lot. Once I get my hands on the Vortex I'll post again.

interested in this comparison.
I’ve got the sig kilo 8k and it works really well, awesome laser and ballistics but the image is not great, very blue and not crisp. Been thinking about trying a Leica… mostly need the handheld for archery where I would appreciate better image, but want to keep the ballistics so I can do shooting practice in the Mts with a light loadout and not always be taking along the pricey RF binos. Plus keep the handheld in the truck for backup during rifle hunts in case the Bino RF goes down.
