I’m looking into picking up a tripod for this hunting season. I’ve looked at several options, and found reviews for most, except for the Vortex Mountain Pass aluminum tripod. Hoping someone has some experience with it in the field. Currently only have 10xs to glass off it with, but will potentially use a magview adapter and get into a lighter spotting scope at some point. Specifically looking for input in stability, ease of use, and value.

Bump to this thread, anyone have a quick review? Is it sturdy enough to do a little shooting off of?

I have found that it has a stable base and value. Hard to beak Vortex warranty, but I am not sure that I would be confident shooting off of it. There are better options out there.

Sorry if it's a late post, but it's a great tripod. I don't think you save much weight with carbon tripods for how much they are, and the mountain pass is sturdy. I think it's pretty good to shoot off of, I have a little trick where I'll flip the panhead where the "hand" faces up, and it makes a little "Y" to put a gun on, makes it really stable to shoot sitting. PM me with any questions if you want
