Vortex is fair, but makes me mad

So everyone hates vortex now, I get it. They sold you a scope for the price of a game changer shooting bag. A canvas bag full of sand... Canvas pillow full of air is more viper territory. I love vortex, they do a real service to the fellow on a budget. One of the few companies who provides a reasonable opportunity for the average joe and makes it right no questions asked when something goes wrong. Not everyone is flying across the world hunting with guides going on trips that cost more than my daily driver. Lots of guys are just shooting deer and squirrels on grandpa's back 40. A Crossfire if babied appropriately is more than reasonable for that type of stuff. Congrats on the elk. You did good and you pulled it off with a $150 scope. Don't get too jaded, half the fun is getting it all done with what you have. Please show vortex some respect. They got me up and running on my first few builds and I still have a handful.

Even the new 4-16x50 Huron is under your $800 budget from Optics Planet.

Just buy a $450 Leupold and go hunting. That's all 98% of hunters need. The other 2% that are all right here need a scope that can survive throwing it off a 2 story roof onto the concrete and still maintain a zero. Some crazy shit.

Leupold is a different story. My friends dad got their premium scope something 5 idk its what a lot.of prs guys run, I forgot the model. It didnt hold zero. He sent it in for repair it took months to get it back. I'd way rather buy any vortex than a leupold.

I have many crossfires and a couple diamondbacks. All are decent scopes, but I don’t run my rifles over with a tank or throw them off mountains. Actually just put a diamondback on my ML a couple weeks ago.

As long as you are happy with it. I have a Diamondback on ML.

I just got some land and deer are in there on the very fringes of shooting time. Basically dark w 1 minute to go.

So this is the second time I have had to replace my Crossfire II 4-12x50 scope. They are good at replacement.
What makes me mad is the reason for the replacement.

The first time the screw for the adjustment on the turrets stripped and would not allow you to set zero. nothing else was wrong with the scope. Reason for replacement was over tightening of the rings causing damage to the scope body.

The second time I took a fall directly on the scope with 90 lbs of elk in the pack. It would not hold zero after the fall. Reason for replacement was over tightening of rings causing damage to the scope.

Let me say this. After the first time I purchased a inch pound driver. When I mounted the new scope I knew there was no way I had over tightened the rings the first time. I mounted the new scope to 15 inch pounds.

So I understand they fix nothing and just replace it, but don't tell me a reason that is not correct. Oh buy the way I am looking for another brand. I am going to sell this new scope in the box. Do any other companies offer a similar reticles to the dead hold?

I got the same response on a diamondback scope for my .17 hmr, they replaced it but the same problem is on the new scope. Their reason was I overtightened the rings , and not using vortex rings. That was a bunch of crap. I’ll just have them send me another one and sell it unopened.
