Vortex is fair, but makes me mad

So this is the second time I have had to replace my Crossfire II 4-12x50 scope. They are good at replacement.
What makes me mad is the reason for the replacement.

The first time the screw for the adjustment on the turrets stripped and would not allow you to set zero. nothing else was wrong with the scope. Reason for replacement was over tightening of the rings causing damage to the scope body.

The second time I took a fall directly on the scope with 90 lbs of elk in the pack. It would not hold zero after the fall. Reason for replacement was over tightening of rings causing damage to the scope.

Let me say this. After the first time I purchased a inch pound driver. When I mounted the new scope I knew there was no way I had over tightened the rings the first time. I mounted the new scope to 15 inch pounds.

So I understand they fix nothing and just replace it, but don't tell me a reason that is not correct. Oh buy the way I am looking for another brand. I am going to sell this new scope in the box. Do any other companies offer a similar reticles to the dead hold?

Thats the reason vortex has the warranty they do, if they didn't no one would buy it cuz most of it is hot garbage. Good for range toys I suppose, so when something happens it doesn't ruin a hunting trip.

Well I have bought 3 products from them and all have been replaced.
So can people suggest a replacement scope that offers like reticles? My budget would need to be $800.00 or less.

Tried the vortex koolaid once an that was enough for me. I'd rather buy good glass with shit for a warranty than buy a good warranty for shit glass..

Not sure on the Reticle, but SWFA 3-9x42, or a Trijicon, or a demo NF SHV are what I would be looking at with an $800 budget. Maven just increased their prices, so RS1.2s will be harder to find close to that, the RS1.2 is the only Maven I'm aware of that is worth looking at.

For the cost of skilled labor in the US to repair your scope, it’s not even worth their time to take it out of the box. Back before I offloaded most of my vortex stuff I’d get wonky repair notes on the report too, probably just the easiest one to punch in and start the replacement process on their end.
Lots of hunting BDC reticles out there if you’re looking for something simple. Check the drop specs on the website to see which one lines up best with your loads. The ballistic e3 is good, but remember it’s only accurate at max power, so a lower mag scope may be more desirable. I’ve got a signature HD 2-10 with the e3 reticle, besides the mushy turret clicks I’m pretty happy with it for the price.

Head over to the optics page and read there.
Classifieds hold good deals.

And “Black Friday “ may get some great scopes to around $800.00
